U.S. IT Services Company Launches with a Commitment to Bring Technology Jobs Back Onshore

Ameritas Technologies Announces Inaugural Facility in Baton Rouge, La.

BATON ROUGE, La. – July 24, 2012 – Today marks the official launch of Ameritas Technologies , a U.S.-based IT services firm focused on the delivery of high-performance domestic outsourcing services for mission-critical IT projects. Led by IT industry veteran Brian Keane, Ameritas will establish software development centers in targeted metropolitan markets in the U.S. to create jobs, long-term career paths, and economic opportunities that strengthen the local community.

As an important first step toward fulfilling the company’s mission, Ameritas announced its commitment to Louisiana, pledging to develop the first of its software development centers in Baton Rouge.  At an event with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and key members of the Louisiana Economic Development office, Mr. Keane communicated the efforts underway to recruit, employ, train, and strengthen local workforces. The inaugural facility will be located in the Chase Tower South in downtown Baton Rouge and can accommodate 300 employees.

“At a time when the U.S. is faced with a staggering unemployment rate – hovering above eight percent—the country is also grappling with a profound shortage of skilled IT workers; this disconnect must, and can, be fixed.” said Brian Keane, CEO, Ameritas Technologies. “Today, companies increasingly rely on technology to innovate, optimize, and compete—causing demand for skilled American IT workers to skyrocket. With few workers to meet this need, we are presented with a tremendous job-creation opportunity. It is time to take advantage of U.S. intellectual capital and put Americans to work.”

Ameritas Technologies is a pioneer in the domestic IT outsourcing space and offers clients an alternative to offshore development.  For complex software development projects, Ameritas’ made in America approach aims to deliver better quality, higher productivity, and faster speed-to-market with the support of project teams who understand the business, are located close to clients, and can communicate effectively in real-time and with shared contextual knowledge.

As part of Keane’s Blueprint for Economic Revitalization and American Job Growth, Ameritas plans to partner with colleges and technical schools to align curricula and cultivate a supply of top technical talent ready to support Ameritas’ development centers.

“Proximity to educational institutions is integral to Ameritas’ success and maintaining a continuous supply of top technical talent,” commented Keane. “Through two-way communication with local officials and educators, we can have a meaningful impact on the economic vitality of the cities where we locate our software development centers, such as Baton Rouge. As a business leader, the ability to have such positive community influence is especially exciting.”
